####english version below#### Liebe Community, in 2022 wird die re:publica Berlin mehr denn je ein Plädoyer für Engagement und Verantwortung, für Emanzipation und Empathie in der digitalen Gesellschaft sein. Wir stellen uns den Krisen und den Herausforderungen. Wir bleiben hoffnungsvoll und mutig. Wir wollen das Gute in der Welt feiern und Lösungen anpacken. Wir wollen endlich wieder diskutieren, streiten, Kompromisse finden, protestieren, werkeln, lachen und feiern! Jede*r ist eingeladen, mitzumachen. Dafür brauchen wir euch: Wir laden euch ein, das Programm der re:publica mitzugestalten und Themen und Projekte bei unserem Call for Participation einzureichen. Something new: Orte, Motto & Formate der re:publica 22 Der Ort Die re:publica Berlin kehrt vom 8. bis 10. Juni 2022 mit jeder Menge Energie und Enthusiasmus zurück. Gemeinsam mit euch, möchten wir alle Nischen, Ecken, Flächen und Gewässer unserer neuen Festival-Locations mit Leben füllen: Auf dem Gelände der Arena Berlin und dem Festsaal Kreuzberg wird es neben mehreren Sprech- und Show-Bühnen genügend Platz für Workshops, Deep-Dive-Stationen, Science-Labs, Makerspaces, Coding-, Game- und Tech-Camps, Artworks und Aktionen jeglicher Form geben. Zahlreiche Außenflächen und das Badeschiff auf der Spree laden dazu ein, von euch bespielt zu werden. Das Motto – Any Way the Wind Blows Wer von euch schon einmal die re:publica besucht hat, weiß, dass sie stets mit dem feierlichen, gemeinsamen Singen von Queens „Bohemian Rhapsody“ endet. „Any Way the Wind Blows“ ist die letzte Zeile dieses Songs. Die letzten Worte, die im vorpandemischen Miteinander der re:publica 2019 fielen, waren demnach: Any Way the Wind Blows! Der Satz ist eine Redewendung, die für Standhaftigkeit steht, für das Konstante, während die Welt jeden Tag etwas mehr in Trümmern liegt. Er macht dabei Mut, dass das Gute bleiben wird. Das Motto schwingt zwischen „Kann man eh nichts machen“ und „Es wird schon weitergehen“. Es ermahnt zur Demut vor dem Kontrollverlust, macht aber auch Mut und wirbt für Optimismus. All die Themen, die uns brennend beschäftigen, immer und immer wieder, kann kein Wind fortblasen, und wir werden uns ihnen auf der re:publica 22 stellen. Die Formate Damit ihr noch mehr Raum für eure Programm-Ideen habt, haben wir den Call for Participation auf vier Festivalbereiche ausgeweitet und um verschiedene mögliche Formate ergänzt. CONFERENCE: Sprecht und diskutiert auf unseren Bühnen darüber, mit welchen Ideen wir die digitale Gesellschaft lebenswerter gestalten können. Formate, die ihr einreichen könnt: Lightning Talk, Vortrag/Lecture, In Conversation With, Panel-Diskussion, Live Podcast, Meetup HANDS ON: Ob Hardware-Workshop, freies Basteln, Frickeln, Gärtnern mit Robotern, Live-Biohacking oder TikTok-Dance-Tutorial: alle Session rund ums (Mit)Machen und Lernen finden im “Hands On”-Programm ihren Platz. Formate, die ihr einreichen könnt: Workshop, Tutorial, Dialog-Format, Games OFF STAGE: Was auch immer euch einfällt, um das Gelände der #rp22 zu bespielen und mitzugestalten – künstlerisch, aktivistisch, wissenschaftlich, technologisch, informativ. Formate, die ihr einreichen könnt: Intervention, Performance, Installation, Contest, Film, Theater & Musical, Sonderformat NIGHTLIFE: Wir freuen uns auf Musiker*innen, Dj-Sets, Karaoke-Veranstalter*innen, Wrestler*innen, Musical-Produzent*innen und alle, die mit unseren Teilnehmer*innen und ihren Beiträgen die #rp22 feiern möchten. Formate, die ihr einreichen könnt: DJ Set, Karaoke-Show, Konzert, Slams, Tanz Noch habt ihr etwas Zeit: Der Call for Participation für das Conference und Hands On-Programm endet am 06. Februar 2022 (23:59 MEZ). Der Call for Participation für das Off Stage und Nightlife-Programm endet am 06. März 2022 (23:59 MEZ). Und nicht zuletzt: Die re:publica ist dabei nicht nur ein Festival. Vielmehr ist sie ein Netzwerk und eine Haltung. Sie steht für Diversität und Vielschichtigkeit. Ein Grund dafür ist, dass sich das Programm zu einem großen Teil aus den Beiträgen der Community zusammensetzt. Jede*r kann teilnehmen und etwas zum Programm der #rp22 beitragen – ob live vor Ort oder mit einem “Remote-Beitrag”. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn ihr am Call for Participation teilnehmt und auch eure Freund*innen dazu ermuntert, ihre Themen und Projekte auf die re:publica-Bühnen und damit in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit zu bringen! Something new: Locations, motto & formats of re:publica 22 The venue Next year, re:publica Berlin returns with plenty of new energy and enthusiasm from 8 to 10 June 2022. Together with you, we want to fill all the spaces, corners and waterways of our new festival locations with life. The grounds of Arena Berlin and Festsaal Kreuzberg will feature several stages for talks and shows, as well as enough space for workshops, deep-dive stops, science labs, makerspaces, coding, game and tech camps, artworks and actions of all kinds. Various outdoor areas and the "Badeschiff" pool will invite you to come and have a go. The motto: Any Way the Wind Blows Anyone who has ever attended re:publica knows that the festival always ends with the celebratory and collective singing of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody". "Any Way the Wind Blows" is the last line of this song. The last words spoken at the pre-pandemic get-together of re:publica 2019 were therefore: Any Way the Wind Blows! The phrase is an idiom that stands for resilience, for the consistent—while the world lies a little more in ruins every day. It encourages that the good will remain. As a figure of speech, it oscillates between "Ain’t nothing you can do anyway" and "Life goes on". It reminds us to be humble when faced with a loss of control, but it also encourages us and promotes optimism. No wind can blow away all those issues that are on our minds, over and over again, and we will face them at re:publica 22. Our formats To give you even more space for your programme ideas, we have extended the Call for Participation to all four content areas and added several possible formats. CONFERENCE: Speak and discuss on our stages about how we can create a digital society that is worth living in. Formats you can submit: Lightning Talk, Lecture, In Conversation With, Panel Discussion, Live Podcast, Meetup HANDS ON: From hardware workshops, free handicrafts and tinkering to gardening with robots, live biohacking and TikTok dance tutorials: all sessions related to making and learning have their place in our "Hands On" programme. Formats you can submit: Workshop, Tutorial, Dialogue Format, Games OFF STAGE: Anything you can think of to perform or create on the festival grounds—artistic, activist, scientific, technological, informative. Formats you can submit: Intervention, Performance, Installation, Contest, Film, Theatre & Musical, Special Format NIGHTLIFE: We are looking forward to musicians, DJ sets, karaoke organisers, producers of musicals and everyone who wants to celebrate #rp22 together with all participants. The Call for Participation for the "Off Stage" programme ends on 06 March 2022 (23:59 CET). And last but not least: re:publica is not just a festival. Rather, it is a network and an attitude. It stands for diversity and complexity. Part of this is due to the fact that the programme is largely made up of contributions from the community. Everybody is invited to participate and contribute to the programme of #rp22—whether live on site or with a "remote contribution".
